Awards & Scholarships
William J. Gamble Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a member of ISM-Buffalo or the spouse, son, daughter, niece, nephew or grandchild of a member of ISM-Buffalo. Applicants must be enrolled as a full-time college student. Deadline for this award is each April and the scholarship is awarded in June.
The William J. Gamble Award was established in 1968 to recognize and honor exceptional service by a member of ISM-Buffalo. Nominations are sent to the committee and an award is given only when the Gamble Awards Committee members vote unanimously to bestow an award upon a nominee.
The Carl F. Green Memorial Award was established in 1983 to recognize and honor the "unsung heroes" who have contributed time and talent to the continued growth of ISM-Buffalo. All current and past members of the Buffalo Association are eligible except presidents and recipients of local, district or national awards.
The President's Award for Excellence was established in 1992 in recognition of noteworthy performance in the best tradition of "Doing things right the first time" and exemplifying a Total Quality Spirit.
The Purchasing Professional of the Year award is "designed to recognize and reward an individual who exemplifies the consummate purchasing/materials management professional. Someone who has remained abreast of new developments in the industry, someone who takes the time to impart knowledge and experience to others, who remains circumspect in all dealings, and who best demonstrates leadership and excellence in our field."
The Sponsor of the Year Award was established in 2020. This award provides recognition of a company which provides sponsorship contributions to the organization and demonstrates significant dedication and commitment to building a strong relationship with ISM-Buffalo. Awarded by majority vote of the Board of Directors.
The Organization of the Year Award was established in 2020. This award provides recognition of an organization that best supports the mission and values of ISM-Buffalo by way of the number of members and participation in local ISM programs and events. Awarded by majority vote of the Board of Directors.
The Educator of the Year Award was established in 2020. This award provides recognition of a speaker who consistently engages, motivates and inspires audiences with their programs, demonstrating passion for imparting their knowledge upon the membership of ISM-Buffalo in support of our mission. Awarded by majority vote of the Board of Directors.
